Brad joined Corporate Risks in 2001, beginning his training as a General Investigator, initially specialising in Surveillance. With an increased demand for highly skilled and fully trained Specialist Fire Investigators, Brad was recruited into the Corporate Risks Specialist Fire Investigation Team. He is now a fully qualified Specialist Fire Investigator and has attended in excess of 350 fires. Brad is the only Fire Investigator in New Zealand who has undergone extensive in-field training (over a period exceeding eight years) in tandem with completing A Master’s Degree in this specialist area. During his intensive training regime, he has also attended 4 International and 3 National training conferences.

 

Brad began his Specialist Fire Investigation training under the guidance of Grant Weavers and Russell Joseph in 2012. It was during this period that he commenced a master’s degree in Fire Investigation through Charles Sturt University, Sydney. He completed his Master of Arts in Fire Investigation in 2018 and was included on the Executive Dean’s List in recognition of his outstanding academic performance, achieving Distinction in all coursework subjects taken.

 

Alongside completing his master’s degree - Brad also completed 45 IAAI Certified Fire Investigator papers covering a wide variety of fire investigation related topics.Brad is now a valued member of the Corporate Risks Specialist Fire Investigation Team and attends a wide range of fire scenes throughout New Zealand. He specialises in residential structure fires as well as commercial fires including, restaurants, laundromats, cafes and other kitchen related commercial properties.  His comprehensive reporting has assisted insurers when seeking advice relating to prompt claim resolution and potential avenues of recovery.

 

Brad utilizes his skills and expertise, creating detailed 3D scene modelling, often incorporated into the Corporate Risks reports. He is also a competent drone operator who can incorporate aerial flyover footage to assist claim handlers in viewing large, complex, dangerous and often inaccessible fire scenes.

 

Brad has been involved in some of New Zealand’s most recent and high-profile fires. His involvement has assisted insurers and lawyers when processing complex claims.

 

Brad also works closely with our Specialist Fire Factual Investigators and Specialist Electrical Engineer in order to accurately determine the circumstances surrounding the origin and cause of a fire. He liaises with FENZ and Police - and provides recommendations to loss adjusters, brokers and insurers, enabling prompt responses when processing claims.

 

Brad is supported by our team of administrative support personnel and operates throughout NZ. He is also a current Board member of the New Zealand Association of Fire Investigators (NZAFI).
